Here at RELEX, we build outstanding software that creates measurable value for our retail customers. As smart as our AI-driven software is, though, it is nothing without the bright minds behind it. In Employee Spotlights, we want to introduce RELEXians who create the solutions to solve our customers’ problems and, while doing that, make the world more sustainable bit by bit.
In this Employee Spotlight, it’s time to meet our Project Management Manager, Esther Lin!
How long have you worked at RELEX, and what do you do here?
1 year and 9 months as a Project Manager and a Team Lead to other Project Managers.
What do you enjoy most about working at RELEX?
My colleagues! Hands down, the best part of RELEX. Implementing a world class software is also a plus. As someone who has always worked in IT industry, this software is one of the best I’ve seen.
What has been the most interesting project so far?
My current project with a super Tier 1 pet store retailer has been my most interesting project at RELEX. What’s more fun than talking about getting crickets, gerbils, fish, and dog beds to the right stores at the right time?!?
What is your favorite RELEX value, and why?
My favorite RELEX value is “Put an end to stupid things.” I love it for a couple of different reasons.
1. I’ve never worked at a company that had the word stupid in their values statement and the honesty and openness of this statement very much resonated with me. It also helps when we’re having discussions with customers on current state versus future state processes. Since our desire is to bring them measurable value, sometimes we achieve that by putting an end to stupid things.
2. Often, I will do things based on status quo or because I’ve done it a certain way before. I love this value because it constantly reminds me to seek value out of the things I’m doing – by either stopping something or starting something.
What advice would you give others interested in working at RELEX?
Go for it! 😊 But seriously, you will go a long way at RELEX if you are the type of person who wants to roll up their sleeves, be hands on in understanding the software, and want to make a difference, both at the company and in the world.
